"Jessie"

Blowing Rock Public Library

Rightfully located in front of the Blowing Rock Library is "Jessie," a young girl reading a storybook. The bronze statue was created by Charlotte-based sculptor Cantey Tomlinson Tanner and donated to the library by the Tomlinson family in honor of Grace Carr, a longtime librarian in Blowing Rock.

Many days you will see children and adults sitting on the bench with Jessie having a photo made! Images below from Blowing Rock, North Carolina’s Facebook post.

Additional Locations

There are “Jessie” statues at the Raleigh Little Theatre in Raleigh, NC; Southminster Retirement Community in Charlotte, NC; and Montgomery Middle School in Princeton, NJ.
